Artist Statement

I am a wood artist making contemporary furniture and wall sculpture.  I choose to make every piece unique in style, materials or scale and do not offer a standard line of work.  I use domestic and exotic hardwoods and seek out the best materials available..

Typically, my work begins with an idea and
a simple sketch. Then, I hand select rough wood and begin the construction process.
I use electric tools and machines but a considerable amount of handwork is also necessary.

Creating furniture of high quality is an extremely labor intensive process with attention to detail being critical. My expectation is that each finished piece will be exceptional in design, function and craftsmanship.

In addition to furniture, I create wall sculptures which are abstract and typically combine contrasting elements and strong dynamics. These are fun to make but also challenging.

Currently, I sell my pieces at art fairs and accept commissions for custom work.
